As Paris Olympics drew millions to witness the thrilling matches, I’m reminded why sports might be humanity’s greatest invention, and learning from it should get equal prominence with classroom.

Sports at any level help develop character, resilience, and vision. The experiential learning for participants is unparalleled, and it offers enough skills to experience, learn and hone.

Here are key leadership skills, which are honed through sports:

𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘁: Sports teach us to lose gracefully and develop resilience. Every successful personality – from Nelson Mandela to Sachin Tendulkar, from Mahatma Gandhi to Bill Gates, has tasted defeat. These setbacks are foundational to their success stories. Sports uniquely allow us to learn from loss, experiment, improvise, and strive for better. This ‘cycle of failure and success’ prepares us for life’s larger challenges.

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: Sports demonstrate the criticality of planning, alignment, and execution. No matter how talented individuals are, success demands all three elements.
